Purpose disorientation
Choosing wrong directions and often opposite directions in performing tasks and living lives. It is a kind of paradoxical thoughts and behaviours.
For example, to maximize the world peace, certain policies are chosen to initiate wars.
Another example is to perform scientific research to understand the factual and accurate mechanism of life, the scientists forge data to publish their work to high impact journals to get more funding so that they contribute to science to understand the life/world more accurately.
